HOW TO HIRE A MARKETING DIRECTOR OR CMO
Finding the right CMO takes significant recruiting resources and often more time than anticipated. Not all organisations are ready to make this commitment, given their stage of development.
In short, first, you will need to prepare a job description, detailing all the activities the candidate must perform. Then it is time to publish, which cannot be done at one job site only; otherwise, your job advertising might not be seen by some good candidates. You may also need to contract a headhunter. Luckily in a couple of months, you will have the shortlist.
The next step is the interviews. Thinking positively, the candidate you are looking for will be on the shortlist; otherwise, a new round of advertising will need to start.
You found the right candidate, and he/she will give notice to his/her current employer. Assuming there won’t be a counter-offer from the current employer, after around 3-4 months you will have the Marketing Director you were looking for.
